This standard asks that teachers plan instruction that allows all students to succeed academically in a challenging learning environment. Teachers must use a wide range of teaching methods, combine subjects, and understand their students, therefore creating meaning learning opportunities. The descriptor 7 (a) requires teachers to design lessons that not only meet content standards, but are also meaningful to and spark the interest of students. The descriptor 7 (c) requires teachers to allow students to show their understanding in a variety of ways, therefore enabling students to gain and express knowledge in the learning style that works best for them.
