"The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner."
This standard requires teachers to continuously learn about the educational profession. Teachers must constantly improve by means of both self evaluation, the advice of colleagues, and through professional development. In order to meet this standard, it is necessary that teachers learn the most effective ways to meet the needs of each student in their classroom. The descriptor 9 (c) requires teachers to work alone and with their peers to gather data and information about each student, and using this information to provide students with the best possible learning experience.
